Best Kenyan Web Designs — 2014 Roundup

It’s been a long while since the last roundup, partly because we’ve been extremely busy, but also because it’s still hard to find well designed Kenyan websites. By the look of things, it seems we’ll only be able to gather enough websites for two new lists a year, so this is the first.

NB: If you’ve come across or know of any really well designed Kenyan sites, let us know in the comments and we’ll add them to the list.

Okay, here goes. There are some really good ones among these below, so check ’em out and let us know what you think.

Thanks for featuring the Kopo Kopo website. I truly appreciate it. I’m also glad to see that the banks are starting to take good design seriously.

    • Good stuff.

Indeed, there are quite a few banks that are noteworthy. So much so that we even have a tentative list that we’ll be posting sometime next week.

My favourite has to be the National Bank site. Love the colour scheme and simpicity of layout which lends very well to the users ease of navigation and viewing experience. Nice collection!

    • Wazi.

BTW their simplicity has been kept consistent even in their billboard ads. They stand out and look very professional. (The only thing that messes them up is that they used glossy social icons on a ‘flat’ billboard design!)

Great collection Huston, av always liked the I&M Bank website, clean and organized. The mzoori is just mzuri :)

And now I feel like a champion!

    • Hey Richard, nice to see you on the blog. Hopefully I’ll be at Nairobits again soon and bring along the rest of the team.

      Cheers.

  • Great work.
I have been reading and putting your code for all sites in the portfolio under a microscope.
    Very impressive

  • This article has given me a lot of inspiration to go out there and use my imagination……thanks.

I hope there will be a part two :D

    • There definitely will be a part two towards the end of the year, Lord willing.

      Thanks.
